Remote Setup: Linking Your Wi-Fi Motor to Connector
MaxiSMART® Wi-Fi enabled motors can be connected directly to the Connector+ App, allowing full control of your blinds or awnings without the need for an external hub. This guide explains how to link your motor to the app and get started.
Step 1: Confirm Wi-Fi Compatibility
Before starting, check that your motor is Wi-Fi enabled. MaxiSMART® offers Wi-Fi motors for roller blinds and outdoor awnings such as Ziptrak®.
Step 2: Download the Connector+ App
-
Available for both iOS and Android.
-
Search for “Connector+” (look for the icon with a plus sign).
-
Install and open the app.
(See our separate guide on how to create your Connector+ account before proceeding.)
Step 3: Add a New Device
-
Open the app and tap the “+” button in the top right corner.
-
From the list, select Wi-Fi Tubular Motor under Blind/Shutter.
-
Tap Add New Device and confirm your Wi-Fi details.
Step 4: Pair by Remote
-
Select By Remote as the pairing method (easier than pairing by motor).
-
Remove the battery cover on your remote and locate the P2 button.
-
Press the P2 button twice. The motor will jog after each press to confirm pairing.
Step 5: Finalise Connection
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the device to your Wi-Fi.
-
Once the device is found, rename it (e.g., “Living Room Blind”) and assign it to a room.
-
Save by tapping Done.
Step 6: Operate Through the App
-
Open the blind in the app to see on-screen icons for Open and Close positions.
-
Drag the slider to set the blind anywhere between 0% (fully open) and 100% (fully closed).
-
Multiple blinds can be grouped into rooms or scenes for convenient one-touch control.
Important Note on Position Settings
The top and bottom travel limits are preset by the installer during installation. Do not adjust these in the app, as incorrect settings can cause the motor to overwind and damage the blind.
Summary
Linking your MaxiSMART® Wi-Fi motor to the Connector+ App is a straightforward process: confirm compatibility, download the app, pair via remote, and finalise setup. Once connected, you’ll have full control of your blinds, including position adjustment, grouping, and room-based organisation.
