Curtains for Different Rooms of Your Coffs Harbour Home
Curtains can be used throughout the home, with the ideal fabric, lining, and style changing depending on the room.
Curtains for Living Rooms
Living room curtains help soften natural light, reduce glare, and create a more finished, comfortable space.
Sheer curtains are ideal when you want daylight and daytime privacy, while blockout curtains offer stronger light control for TV viewing and afternoon sun. Layering sheers with blockout curtains gives the room flexibility from morning through to night.
Curtains also add texture and warmth to open-plan living spaces. The right fabric, colour, and track style can complement both modern and traditional interiors.
Curtains for Bedrooms
Bedroom curtains provide privacy, light control, and a calmer environment for rest.
Blockout curtains are a popular choice for bedrooms because they help reduce early-morning light and outside visibility. They can also add another layer of insulation around windows, supporting a more comfortable room in different seasons.
For a softer look, sheer curtains can be combined with blockout curtains. This allows filtered daylight during the day and stronger privacy when needed.
Curtains for Bathrooms and Laundries
Bathrooms and laundries need window furnishings that suit moisture, regular cleaning, and everyday practicality.
Curtains can work in larger or well-ventilated bathrooms where they are positioned away from direct water exposure. Lightweight, easy-care fabrics are generally the most suitable choice for these areas.
For smaller bathrooms and laundries, blinds or shutters may often be the more practical option. The best solution depends on ventilation, window location, and how much privacy is required.
Curtains for Kitchens
Kitchen curtains can soften the room while providing privacy and controlled natural light.
In kitchens, fabric selection matters. Curtains should be positioned away from cooktops, sinks, and splash areas, with easy-care fabrics making ongoing maintenance simpler.
For larger kitchen windows or adjoining dining spaces, sheers can create a light, open feel without leaving the room fully exposed to neighbouring homes.
Curtains for Sliding Doors and Large Windows
Large windows and sliding doors benefit from curtains that operate smoothly and cover the full opening neatly.
Curtains can be custom-made to suit wide glass doors, tall windows, and open-plan living areas. Sheer fabrics help maintain natural light and soften the look of large expanses of glass, while blockout curtains provide stronger privacy and light control.
Professional measuring is important for larger openings. Track placement, stack-back space, fabric weight, and access through the doorway all need to be considered so the curtains remain practical for everyday use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of curtains does Apollo Blinds provide?
Apollo Blinds provides custom-made curtains designed for privacy, light control, insulation and interior styling. The range includes sheer and natural fabrics, with options suited to living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas and larger windows.
Are Apollo curtains custom-made?
Yes. Apollo curtains are made to measure, so they can be tailored to suit your window size, room layout, fabric choice and preferred look. During the free in-home measure and quote, an Apollo consultant can help you choose the right curtain style and fabric for your home.
Do curtains help with privacy?
Yes. Curtains are a strong choice for privacy because they let you control how much of the room is visible from outside. Sheer curtains can soften outside views during the day, while heavier fabrics can provide greater privacy when closed.
Can curtains help control light?
Yes. Curtains can help reduce glare, soften natural light or block more light depending on the fabric selected. Blockout curtain fabrics are suitable for bedrooms, media rooms and spaces where stronger light control is needed.
Do curtains help with insulation?
Curtains can help improve comfort by adding a layer between the window and the room. Heavier curtain fabrics can help reduce heat transfer through glass, supporting a warmer room in cooler months and a cooler room in warmer weather.
Are Apollo curtains easy to operate?
Yes. Apollo’s curtain options are designed for everyday use. Depending on the selected product and setup, your consultant can recommend a curtain solution that suits your window size, access needs and room layout.
Are Apollo curtains easy to maintain?
Many curtain fabrics are designed to be easy to care for, but the correct maintenance depends on the fabric type. Your Apollo consultant can guide you on fabric care during the selection process.
Are Apollo curtains made in Australia?
Apollo proudly manufactures many of its quality products in Australia, using materials and production standards suited to Australian homes.
Does Apollo install the curtains?
Yes. Apollo provides professional installation. After your consultation and product selection, your curtains are custom-made and installed by trained professionals for a neat, accurate finish.
