If you’ve been looking for security screens to protect your home, then we are here to assist.
Protecting your home is one of the most important investments you can make. Adding a new screen to your doors or windows can provide privacy and security to kept out thieves and unauthorised people. Whether you have a front door, side door, sliding doors or windows, Amplimesh comes in a variety of different sizes and metals that can be installed to provide you piece of mind, whether you are inside your home or not at home at all.
Apollo Blinds is a licensed Amplimesh Security Screen dealer. Amplimesh are custom built security screens made from marine grade material. We offer both Supascreen® and Intrudaguard® , both tested to meet Australian Standard AS5039-2008.
What is Australian Standard AS5039-2008?
This sets out the standard requirements for the performance of hinged and sliding security screen doors and security window grilles. Products must meet the requirements of 6 tests to assess the strength and structural integrity of security screen doors and security window screens.
Tests include a knife test, an impact test, a jemmy or screwdriver test, a pull test, a probe test which is creating a hole through the door and a shears test.
These are stringent tests and Amplimesh has passed these tests and received compliance with this standard.
What is the difference between a security door and a safety door?
A security door must pass the above 6 tests. A safety door may look similar, but it has not passed these stringent tests and has not received the Australian Standard AS5039-2008.
Most security doors will have a 3 point locking system, 316 marine-grade stainless steel or structural grade aluminium panels that are corrosion resistant, between 0.8-1.6mm mesh thickness, insect protection, manufacturer’s warranty, and are AS5039-2008 rated.
Amplimesh meets the above requirements to be considered “security” doors and screens.
What is the difference between the Supascreen® security mesh and the Intrudaguard® security mesh?
The Supascreen® is made from 316 marine grade stainless steel and has an unobstructed 156 degree angle of view coupled with a 16-year warranty. The Intrudaguard® on the other hand is made from 5052 marine grade aluminium, has a 119 degree angle of view and a 10-year warranty.
Both of these screens meet standard AS5039-2008, have superior insect and pest protection, are corrosion-resistant, have a 3-point locking mechanism and are WERS rated for UV resistance and energy efficiency.
