    Convertible Awnings

This is the most popular type of Awning due to its versatility. It is suitable for both ground floor and upper level applications and can be operated externally with rope, tape or a winch or internally with tape or a winch. Optional hoods are available in 16 colours, to protect the fabric on the roller when retracted. Apollo’s Convertible Awning uses a 5 sided bottom rail, which is available in 12 colours, with spring loaded arms for better Awning stability.

    Frequently Asked Questions

They’re ideal for ground-floor and first-floor windows where flexible shading is required. The adjustable arm system makes them suitable for east- or west-facing windows, and outdoor living areas that receive changing sun angles.

Most Convertible Awnings are manually operated using a rope, crank handle, or internal cord system.

While Automatic Lock Arm Awnings slide along fixed side rails, Convertible Awnings pivot outward from the window, offering greater flexibility in how far the fabric projects. This makes them a great option for windows that need both shading and ventilation.

They perform best in mild to moderate winds. For high-wind or coastal areas, Apollo recommends retracting the awning during rough weather or considering Straight Drop or Ziptrak® for greater wind resistance.
